Meet The Team: Victoria & Tasmania State Manager

Introducing Claire, our Victoria & Tasmania State Manager. Claire has worked at National 360 for over 4 years leading multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality allied health services in community practice. With a background as an Occupational Therapist, Claire has a wealth of skills and knowledge that makes her such a wonderful and understanding leader for not only our Victorian and Tasmanian based therapists, but for clinicians nationwide to tap into and learn from.

To learn more about Claire, her background and role as a State Manager, a highlight of her time working at National 360, how she would describe the company, and advice that she would share with clinicians thinking about working in the NDIS and community health space, read our full interview with Claire below:

Meet The Team: Victoria & Tasmania State ManagerWhen did you start at National 360, and why did you join the company?

I started working at National 360 towards the end of 2016. I joined the company after meeting Heidi (our Managing Director) in a café and having a great chat to her about the business. We realised we’d worked at the same hospital in London and I thought that was a pretty clear sign we were going to work together! This was way back when National 360 was much smaller and I loved how personal, warm and welcoming it felt.

I also wanted to work in community practice at that point as I’d been in the hospital system for some years and I was looking for more autonomy and flexibility in my role.

Could you tell us a little about your allied health background and career progression?

I graduated in 2008 as an OT. I worked in hospital settings across Australia and the UK for several years before moving into community practice in 2016. My area of expertise as an OT was in Neuro Rehab. When I started with National 360, I progressed from clinician to supervisor, supervisor to Team Leader and then Team Leader to Victoria & Tasmania State Manager.

I didn’t ever think I’d find myself in management as I was a very passionate clinician, however, being able to support our therapists now to provide community based services is equally as rewarding.

What do you love most about your role as the Victoria & Tasmania State Manager?

I love the people I work with. We have an excellent, approachable and knowledgeable management team, as well as exceptional clinicians. The work our staff do every day is above and beyond and I love supporting our clinicians to do what they do best.

What is a highlight of your time working at National 360?

I was awarded a Leadership Excellence award as part of our National 360 end of year awards a couple of years ago and that was definitely a highlight for me. It’s really nice to feel acknowledged and supported within an organisation.

How would you describe National 360 to another clinician or someone working in the allied health space?

National 360 is a very warm and friendly workplace where we pride ourselves on our clinical and operational support systems.

Do you have any advice for someone who is considering working in the NDIS space?

Work at National 360! NDIS is a really big space but we will teach you how to navigate it, we will guide you through it, we will set you up for success.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I was once almost trampled by an elephant while camping in Namibia, but I lived to tell the tale!
