Meet The Team: General Manager People and Culture

Introducing Annie, General Manager People and Culture! Annie joined the National 360 team over two years ago, and has been instrumental in attracting, nurturing, and retaining exceptional talent at National 360.

We are so proud of the positive impact Annie has had on our National 360 team through the initiatives she has directed, and the insights she’s discovered and shared to contribute to our wonderful workplace culture.

We asked Annie some questions about her journey at National 360, her role as General Manager People and Culture, a highlight of her time working at National 360, and her advice for clinicians looking for the right allied health company to join.

General Manager People and Culture

When did you start working at National 360, and what attracted you to joining the company?

I joined National 360 over two years ago. The recruitment process for my role comprised of several interviews with the Executive Team – Heidi, Anthony, and Glenn. Ultimately, the reason I joined came down to the way that the Executive Team spoke about the workforce; there was so much respect, understanding and admiration for therapists and the support teams, and I wanted to be part of an organisation that really valued and respected the contributions of employees.

What do you love most about your role as General Manager People and Culture?

One of my favourite parts is fostering connections with my colleagues and discovering what motivates and inspires them. Additionally, spearheading the Engagement Survey process twice each year has proven to be a particularly rewarding responsibility. The invaluable feedback we receive regarding our strengths and areas to focus on allow us to develop comprehensive strategies that not only benefit the business but also foster a thriving work environment for the entire team. The opportunity to contribute towards creating a better workplace for everyone truly motivates me.

Can you tell us a little bit about your role as General Manager People and Culture?

The People and Culture Team at National 360 oversee talent acquisition, human resources, and learning & development practices. My role is ultimately to ensure we are attracting, nurturing, and retaining exceptional talent at National 360. Making sure we have a strong Employee Value Proposition for all roles is key to what I do, so I am consistently seeking feedback from both candidates and team members and using that information to inform of our benefits, rewards, and learning & development programs. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that our workforce is comprised of the most talented and fulfilled individuals who share our passion for excellence to drive our organisation forward.

What has been a highlight of your time working at National 360?

I’m proud of many things that we’ve done to support our team members at work and in their personal lives. We introduced Paid Parental Leave nearly two years ago, and the response that we had from the workforce was incredibly moving. I had somebody reach out to me to say that the benefit was life changing for her, as it meant she could spend more time with her newborn and wouldn’t have to return to work as soon as she had planned to prior to the announcement. I’m not an overly emotional person, but that brought me to tears, and I have tears in my eyes remembering that now!

How would you describe National 360 to someone working in the allied health space?

Working in the Allied Health space can be challenging, not only for therapists but for support staff as well. National 360 provides an exceptionally nurturing environment for everybody who works here. We are really committed to partnering with team members to support them to achieve their goals – whether those goals relate to work or something more personal. If you’re looking for an organisation that listens to you, invests in your development, and is committed to honesty and transparency, then National 360 is the place to be.

Do you have any advice for someone who is looking for a job in the allied health?

Reflect on what is important to you in your career and what your non-negotiables are, and actively seek out opportunities that align with your values and goals. There are a lot of brilliant workplaces that all offer something a bit different, and we know how important it is for clients to have consistent care. Try to select a workplace that you can see yourself sticking with long-term to do the best thing by yourself, your peers, and the people who the organisation supports.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I love the film The Titanic and watch it at least once a year. I turn it off once they hit the iceberg, though, and like to pretend that everybody lived happily ever after. I can be a bit of a dreamer!
