Clinical Leadership Development Program

For those interested in becoming a Clinical Supervisor, or for existing Clinical Supervisors who would like to receive formal training in this area, the 12-month Clinical Leadership Development Program is for you. The Program includes:

Practical Modules

Practical modules are completed through National 360’s online Learning Management System at a pace that you are comfortable with. Upon completion of the Fundamentals of Supervision, Core and Advanced modules, you will be invited to a live session with your fellow program participants, hosted by one of National 360’s Clinical Leaders, to recap and discuss the relevant learnings.

Soft Skill Workshop

Facilitated by an external provider, the soft skill workshop will provide you with the skills to interact effectively with clinical supervisees to coach and develop their skills. Topics covered in the soft skill workshop include Providing Effective Feedback, Facilitating Coaching Conversations, Managing Difficult Conversations, and Navigating Change for Self & Others.

Evaluation of Supervision

Following completion of the practical modules and soft skills workshop, program participants will undertake an evaluation of their supervisory skills, including a self-audit, peer audit, and mini-360, leveraging this feedback to further develop and refine their clinical supervisory skillset. Advanced supervisors will also engage in 1:1 coaching with their relevant Clinical Lead and will implement a Career Development Plan focused on clinical leadership.

Team Leader Development Program

Our Team Leader Development Program is designed for therapists who are interested in pursuing a career in operational management & leadership. The 12-month Program has been designed for existing and emerging Team Leaders at National 360 to understand the role of a Team Leader, develop strong connections across the national organisation, and to ensure that everybody feels confident and competent to perform their duties. The Program includes:

360 Feedback

National 360 partners with an external provider to facilitate 360 qualitative and quantitative feedback from various stakeholder groups, including supervisors, peers, and direct reports, and also incorporates the individual’s self-evaluation. This component aims to increase participant’s self-awareness, contributing to increased communication and transparency among teams. Team Leaders engage in a 1:1 360 Profile Debrief with our People & Culture Manager to understand, analyse and interpret the feedback, and to set goals specifically related to addressing the feedback.

Coaching

Each Team Leader is paired with a Regional Manager, State Manager, or a member of the Senior Leadership Team for the duration of the Program. Formal coaching sessions centre around each Team Leader’s Reflective Journal, which include self-assessments as well as areas to reflect on course content and the practical application of learnings throughout the program. Each Team Leader will also develop a Professional Development Plan in liaison with their Coach and will regularly engage in the review of the attainment of personal and professional goals & objectives.

Peer-to-Peer Support

Team Leaders are assigned to Peer Support Groups with other Team Leaders who are completing the Program. As part of the Program, you will complete an Action Learning Project with your Peer Support Group, working together to propose a solution to a real workplace challenge. Teams present solutions directly to National 360’s Executive Team, providing an opportunity to develop their problem-solving and presentation skills. To date, National 360 has adopted all solutions that Team Leaders have recommended, resulting in positive workplace changes impacting all team members at National 360.

Practical Skill Development

Practical skills in the context of the Team Leader Development Program refer to understanding how to perform each element of the Team Leader role effectively, including onboarding & offboarding team members, how to implement a Performance Improvement or Support Plan, and how to conduct formal reviews for team members. Designed to ensure our Team Leaders feel confident and competent to complete job-related tasks effectively, this component ensures that all Team Leaders understand organisational processes relating to their role.

Soft Skill Workshop

Facilitated by an external provider, Team Leaders participate in three soft skill workshops to acquire skills to interact effectively with team members to coach and develop their careers. Topics include Providing Effective Feedback, Facilitating Coaching Conversations, Managing Difficult Conversations, and Navigating Change for Self & Others.
