    What is National 360’s Allied Health Academy?

    National 360’s Allied Health Academy is National 360’s paid, structured pathway for students in their final year of study who want to build real-world skills in a community setting.

    The Program is designed for students interested in joining 360 GO, our Graduate Program, and enables students to work alongside experienced clinicians while completing studies. Through the Academy, you’ll gain confidence, practical exposure, and a genuine understanding of community-based Allied Health.

    A Typical Day as an Allied Health Assistant

    As an Allied Health Assistant, you’ll join a local National 360 team and gain exposure to working as a clinician in community and NDIS settings.

    Your hours will be agreed upon with your Team Leader, based on local team need and your university and placement commitments. You may work weekly, fortnightly or monthly, and this may vary throughout the year.

    While no two days are the same, your experience may include:

    Shadowing therapy sessions to observe assessments, interventions, and client interactions

    Supporting clinicians before, during and after sessions

    Assisting with therapy preparation and resource development

    Contributing to case notes, reports and clinical documentation under supervision

    Supporting research and evidence gathering for therapy planning

    Participating in team meetings, supervision and case discussions

    Providing general administrative and organisational support to the local team

    Completing self-directed learning via National 360’s Learning Management System

    Who is the Allied Health Academy for?

    This role is designed for students who:

    • Are in their final year of Allied Health studies (Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy)
    • Intend to pursue a career in community-based Allied Health
    • Are interested in joining 360 GO once qualified
    • Are motivated by learning, feedback, and professional development
    • Can travel independently for community-based sessions

    Progression to 360 GO Graduate Program

    Your Team Leader will keep in regular contact with you and provide you with feedback on your performance. Should you express interest in joining 360 GO after joining the team as an Allied Health Assistant, and your performance in the role meets the requisite standard, your Team Leader will offer you a place in 360 GO.

    Places in 360 GO are offered to those employed as part of the Allied Health Academy before external candidates, and AHAs are offered a higher base salary upon graduation to reflect the knowledge, skills and experience gained from the Academy.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How often will I be working?

    Shifts will vary depending on the local team’s needs as well as your availability. Most working days are six hours. You may work once a week, once a fortnight, or once a month.

    Student placements are managed separately to the Allied Health Academy and focus on meeting university requirements. National 360 support student placements across many teams. Many students accept AHA roles with National 360 following their placement and go on to become a Graduate as part of 360 GO.

    While graduate roles are subject to standard recruitment processes, the Academy provides a direct and accelerated pathway into 360 GO and is designed to strongly support successful transition into graduate employment. Being part of the Allied Heath Academy does not guarantee that you’ll be offered a role in 360 GO, however it puts you in a good position to become a Graduate at National 360.

    National 360’s Allied Health Academy team members come from Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology disciplines. Some roles are flexible in terms of the person’s discipline and others specify a specific discipline that is required. This is based on the needs of the local team as well as forecasted graduate vacancies.

    One of the great things about the 360 GO Graduate Program is that you can start at any stage throughout the year. For the Allied Health Academy, positions are advertised throughout the year across our locations based on local needs. We encourage those who are interested to keep an eye on advertised opportunities and apply when a suitable role arises.

    At times, roles are available to students who are earlier in their studies. In most cases, this will be for regional locations. Job advertisements will specify if students earlier in their studies can apply.

    The hourly rate is currently $37.50 + Superannuation and is reviewed on 1 July each year.
